Through its Educational Partner Program, Remsoft gives universities, colleges and other higher and further education institutions a significant discount on the purchase of its suite of software packages. Already universities and other certified training organizations, in Canada, the USA and the Far East are using Woodstock and Stanley to teach forest modeling and land management.
The planning tools are also used for research for a number of Masters and PhD theses and for academic papers. "We are told again and again, by teachers and professors of the importance of familiarizing students with the tools used by forest industry employers today and where forest management is concerned, those are software tools like Woodstock and Stanley," says Remsoft President Andrea Feunekes.
To qualify, Universities and other certified training organizations, must use the software for teaching and research purposes only and preferably as a part of a regular program or curriculum. In addition to providing licensed copies of Woodstock and Stanley to participants in the Educational Partners Program, Remsoft also provides an unkeyed version which can be used in a laboratory or classroom to introduce students to the software and build and run small (15 to 30 development types) models.
In addition to Remsoft's Spatial Planning System, Woodstock and Stanley, Remsoft's wildfire management software - WeatherPro and Behave by Remsoft - are also available at a discount under the terms of the program.
