Remsoft Software Hits Road and Takes Home the Big Prize.
May 4th, 2007
At a Gala event held in New Brunswick last night Remsoft Software took home the KIRA Award in the Technological Advancement/Innovation category. But it’s not what you think..
New Brunswick’s Department of Transportation (DoT) has been optimizing the use of its resources with Remsoft products for over two years. Traditionally used to manage the world’s forestlands, the award winning software is showing its flexibility and changing the face of asset management.
Remsoft developes modeling tools that apply mathematical optimization techniques - which are used extensively in almost all areas of decision-making, to solve very complex problems and balance among conflicting constraints. Thus, just as the forest industry can optimize their decisions related to the sustainable management and growth of their forests, the DoT can apply the software to minimize the deterioration of our infrastructure assets.
With partner xwave, this innovative solution enables the DoT to deliver a high standard of performance for a growing network of transportation assets while maintaining expenditures within the limits of fiscal reality. This has garnered significant interest from other provinces, US states and international asset management experts from as far away as Costa Rica and Australia.
With this win, the New Brunswick Department of Transportation’s Asset Management Business Framework (AMBF) initiative automatically becomes a finalist for a Nation CIPA Award.
