New Remsoft Tactical Planner release offers speed and agility to improve performance and communicate results

June 30th, 2010

FREDERICTON - June 30th, 2010 - Remsoft delivers a clearer view of the ‘the big picture’, refines collaborative capabilities and puts greater control in the hands of analysts with the new release of its Remsoft Tactical Planner (RTP) software solution.

A host of new features enhance tactical planning tasks while also improving collaboration and communication capabilities so that it is easier to share plans, gather input and verify that proposed tactical activities fit with larger scale plans and strategies.

The net benefits to users are improved workflow and more effective analyses.

“The initial release of RTP was well received by our user community who immediately saw the benefit of tight linkages among planning-levels and spatially-informed decision-making,” says Ugo Feunekes, Remsoft Chief Technology Officer. “Our goal with this release and future releases is to build on the solution’s effectiveness for managing high-value assets and we do this by improving the flow of information, aiding decision-making through clearer communications capabilities and helping to set schedules and planned activities in contexts.”

Highlights of the new RTP release include

  • Reference Layers: GIS Reference layers can be viewed in RTP so spatial views of planned activities can be seen in context - not in isolation – better illustrating the impact and consequences of planned activities.
  • Map Grid View: Interactive and spatially linked tabular views provide a faster summary of scheduled management activities. Grid view is now linked to the map providing user flexibility and ease of working with the plan.
  • Spatial Indicators: Improved graph view with the option to view spatial indicators associated with the user planning layer, original tactical plan, and strategic plan. Spatial indicators are contained under one tab with access to outputs under a single tab with drop down menu.
  • Workflow: New field enhances collaboration and workflow process by allowing users  to assign workflow criteria / categories to the workflow status field.
  • Planning Layer Management: Improved features allows users to create and delete planning layers. Enhanced security features in the planning layer enable accurate collaboration without risking the integrity of your plan.
