Remsoft Expertise Profiled at This Year’s ESRI Forest GIS Conference

April 30th, 2013

FREDERICTON – April 30, 2013 - Canadian company Remsoft, a leading provider of advanced analytics, modeling and spatial optimization solutions, will be an important contributor at this year’s Esri Forestry GIS Conference, Benefiting from Change: Realizing the Value of GIS in Forestry, in Redlands, California, USA, May 14-16, 2013. The conference will bring together forest managers, decision makers, GIS users and specialists from around the world to learn about best practices for GIS and Optimization to improve forestry operations and to share success stories.

Mr. Ugo Feunekes, co-Founder and CTO of Remsoft is one of the most respected people in the forestland modeling and optimization industry today and has been asked to present at this year’s conference. The interactive session on “The Art and Science of Spatial Optimization” will explore the multiple levels of spatial analysis as it relates to the business of forestry.

"One of the things I like most about  this conference is that it is a great opportunity to get together with peers to exchange ideas ", says Mr. Feunekes.  "The attendees are highly skilled are not shy to ask pointed questions. So it is a perfect place for me to put out some ideas in a live demo format and show what can really be accomplished."

In a second presentation, Remsoft VP Doug Jones joins with Kees van Loo, Managing Director of German company Geocom Informatik to show what an optimized forestry logistics solution could look like when two technology leaders join forces to offer a complete solution.

"This is an exciting concept and we sense there is demand in the market place" says Mr. Jones   “Geocom has some very slick technology based on the Esri platform that is very complementary to what we do. Putting the technologies together for the benefit of our clients could offer real gains. We will be looking for reaction from the attendees to help gauge whether we are on the right track.

Mr. Van Loo adds: “It is an honour to work with Remsoft, such acclaimed experts in the field of forestry. We have eagerly awaited the opportunity to introduce our logistics and road network technology to the forestry community, and we couldn’t have found a better partner than Remsoft.”
